  • The Theory of the Continental Drift----

    • In 1910, Alfred Wegener got the idea of the continental drift
    • He supported his ideas with evidence of climate, fossils, and landforms
  • Evidence from Landforms----

    • In South Africa, a mountain range lines up with a mountain range in Argentina
  • Evidence from Fossils----

    • Common fossils were found on distant continents
  • Evidence from Climate----

    • Continents today, have very different climate from millions of years ago
  • Scientists reject Wegener's Theory----

    • Wegener could not explain the pushes and pulls of the plates
